MEET COACH SALSA

Coach Salsa, born in Luanda, Angola has been playing soccer from the time he could walk. Due to the civil war in Angola, in 2001 he moved to the USA to live in Rhode Island where he continued to pursue the game he loved. While in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, he played for Jenks MS, Attleboro HS and later at the Community College of Rhode Island. â€‹

Coach Salsa continued his soccer career by playing and graduating from NC Wesleyan College. He's also played in Iceland and in the United Premier League(UPSL). Honoring his commitment and passion for the game, he became a graduate assistant coach for NC Wesleyan College and the Head Coach for the U14 TRYSA Boys Team for 2 years. After moving to Raleigh, NC he started coaching for North Carolina Football Club Youth Program and was the Assistant Coach for Wake Tech Community College Men's Soccer Team. Coach Salsa currently is an Assistant Coach at Shaw University DII Men's and Women's Soccer Team.

SALSA WAS RECRUITED BY NC WESLEYAN

As a former student-athlete himself, Salsa was recruited by N.C. Wesleyan where he was named Second Team All-Conference, earned the Sportsmanship Award and helped lead the Bishops through the NCAA DIII East Division Conference Tournament. 

CERTIFICATIONS

SPORTS MANAGEMENT DEGREE FROM NC

Coach Salsa obtained a Sports Management degree with a concentration in Coaching from N.C. Wesleyan in 2017. Salsa holds coaching licenses from the United States Soccer Federation and the United Soccer Coaches organization.
